Soccer YouTuber Dong-go has turned into a K7 League head coach.
Dongo FC, managed by Dongo, played against OT FC in the second round of the 2023 K7 Dongjak District Division League at Noryangjin Soccer Stadium in Dongjak-gu, Seoul on March 20. Dongo FC conceded two goals down and recovered one goal to lose 1-2토토사이트.
After the game, Dongo FC’s head coach said, “The players were overconfident due to our big win in the first round. Some players were late to the stadium even before kickoff. We prepared for the game in a very chaotic atmosphere.”
“Dongo FC is a team that was founded last year. We are an amateur team in the K7 League, but we want to establish a systematic training and system. Our goal is to start with the K7 League and move up to the K5 League.”
Koo, who runs the YouTube channel “Donggo” (neighborhood soccer guru), has a unique background, having played in Spain. He studied coaching in Spain, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and injuries, he returned to Korea and played for TNT FC in the K5 League. Now, he is utilizing his diverse experience and know-how to run and coach Dongo FC.
In line with his goals, Dongo FC is divided into two teams, A and B, which compete in different regional leagues. From the warm-up, the team demonstrated a systematic training session that sets them apart from other K7 teams. We videotaped the training and play of the match.
The limitations are obvious. The team is only two years old, and all members are purely amateur players. “The players all have their own jobs, so it’s hard to organize a training schedule,” says Koo. Even when we have a training schedule, it’s difficult for everyone to participate. Other than that, the players work hard. They all have a lot of passion, so we don’t have much trouble managing the team.”
Comparing the Spanish amateur league to the K7 League, Koo said, “Amateur teams in Spain and other European countries have a solid structure that allows them to be self-sustaining. Even though it is a lower league, it has a stable club management system. We want to develop Dongo FC in the same way,” he said.
