Tiger Trainer’ Lee Beom-ho’s solo career

The KIA Tigers ranked first in team batting average (0.272), slugging percentage (0.398) and points (720) last season (2022). In the 2021 season, all three categories were at the bottom. Attack power has risen significantly in one year.

The effect of recruiting Na Seong-beom, who was a free agent (FA) big fish, appeared. Socrates Brito, a new foreign player, also played an active role with a batting average of 30% (0.311). Hwang Dae-in, Lee Chang-jin, Ryu Ji-hyeok, and Park Chan-ho, who were aiming for starting positions, also improved significantly. Choi Hyeong-woo, who was sluggish in the first half, also lived up to his name from the second half.  메이저사이트

Hitting coach Lee Bum-ho has a lot to do with it. He took care of everything from veterans who lost confidence to players thirsty for growth and rookies.

Lee Chang-jin, the Monthly Most Valuable Player (MVP) selected by the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) in July of last year, said, “I abandoned the existing leg-kick and changed it to a batting form that barely lifts the moving foot (left foot) off the ground. Coach Lee Beom-ho’s I heard the suggestion. After that, I focused on hitting mainly with pelvis and waist rotation, and good results followed.”

1st nominated rookie Kim Do-young also said, “When I was sluggish at the beginning of the season and my mentality was shaking, coach Lee Beom-ho said, ‘This year should be the time to create a batting form that will be used throughout my baseball life.’ Thanks to you, I was able to establish my form in the second half.”

Choi Hyung-woo also visited coach Lee Bum-ho when he was suffering from severe batting difficulties in the first half. Choi Hyeong-woo said, “I usually don’t tell anyone about my worries, but

Hwang Dae-in, who recorded a career high of home runs (14) and RBIs (91) last year, said, “At the beginning of the season, there were too many RBI opportunities, so I felt a sense of pressure. At this time, coach Lee Beom-ho said, ‘Even if you withdraw with strikeouts and hits, you must swing confidently.'” He advised me. I was able to hit well after I engraved these words and went to bat.”

Coach Lee Bum-ho was a representative third baseman in Korean baseball. He played in 2001 career games and hit 329 home runs. He was also called the “man with full bases” as he ranked first in the KBO league’s career with the most home runs (17).

Coach Lee Bum-ho started the 2021 season as the general coach of the KIA Futures (second group) team. Last season, he took on the batting part with coach Choi Hee-seop. And this year, coach Hee-seop Choi moved to the reserve team and became the main hitting coach alone.

KIA set a goal for the 2023 season to win. Hwang Dae-in, Lee Chang-jin, Ryu Ji-hyeok, and Park Chan-ho need to work hard. In addition, the growth and appearance of new faces of ‘Geopo promising players’ such as Byun Woo-hyuk, Lim Seok-jin, and Kim Seok-hwan are desperately needed.

Coach Lee Bum-ho said, “It is more important to strengthen the strengths than to compensate for the weaknesses. The way I see players is no different.” 2023 is a big challenge for coach Lee, who is standing alone apart from coach Hee-seop Choi.
