Starting QS & batting focus → no-hit bullpen…”It’s a good start to a nine-game series”

The Doosan Bears started their nine-game series with a win.

Doosan won 2-0 against the Lotte Giants at Sajik Stadium in Busan on Wednesday. Sixth-ranked Doosan snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 55-1-54 on the season.

Doosan’s starting lineup consisted of Kim Tae-geun (right fielder), Kim Jae-ho (shortstop), Yang Seok-hwan (designated hitter), Yang Ji (catcher), Kim Jae-hwan (left fielder), Heo Kyung-min (third baseman), Kang Seung-ho (first baseman), Lee Yoo-chan (second baseman), and Jeong Soo-bin (center fielder).메이저놀이터

The pitching staff shined. While starter Brandon Waddell pitched six scoreless innings, the pitching staff of Park Chi-guk, Kim Myung-shin, and Jeong Chul-won held their own on the mound.

The bats didn’t quite come alive, but the offense got the job done. In the top of the third inning, Kang Seung-ho led off with a single and Lee Yoo-chan reached on an error. They had runners on first and third with no outs. Lee was caught trying to steal second base, allowing Kang Seung-ho to score the game’s final run.

Doosan completed the victory in the top of the eighth inning when Kim Tae-geun was walked, Park Kye-beom laid down a sacrifice bunt, Yang Seok-hwan singled, and Yang Ji-soo followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0.

After the game, Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop said, “Our starting pitcher Brandon did a great job managing his conditioning despite the fact that his start was rained out four times. He pitched a quality start and gave up no earned runs. Park Chi-guk, Kim Myung-shin, and Jung Chul-won also did their part.”

“The batters also did a great job of staying focused in the field despite back-to-back rainouts, and I applaud the entire team for a great start to a tough nine-game series,” Lee said.

He also thanked the fans. “Finally, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the fans who traveled all the way to Busan in bad weather to support us. Our players and coaching staff will do their best to show a good performance in the remaining matches.”
