The New York Mets were in talks with several teams to bolster their left-handed bullpen heading into the offseason, and one of those teams was Brooks Reilly, 35, a familiar face from his long stint with Lotte in the KBO.

After a stint in South Korea and a return to the major leagues ahead of the 2020 season, Reilly has worked hard to become a recognized bullpen resource in the league. His rise through the ranks has been swift. After going 1-2 with a 2.68 ERA in 53⅔ innings in 60 games last year, Railey was on the Mets’ radar and was traded. He was one of the few players to live up to the Mets’ expectations this season. However, the New York Post notes that it all depends on the Mets’ plans, saying, “The Mets may want to keep him as part of their future bullpen centerpiece.
