On the first day of the holiday, the rain that started in the central region will expand across the country overnight.
This is because rain clouds formed between cold air in the north and warm air in the south are expected to gradually move south.
Due to the slow movement, accompanied by a stagnant front, the rain clouds are likely to intensify in the southern part of the country from Sunday night.
The Korea Meteorological Administration says 30 to 80 millimeters of rain will fall across the country, and up to 100 millimeters or more in South Chungcheong Province.
In addition, some areas are expected to experience strong rainfall of more than 20 millimeters per hour accompanied by gusts of wind and lightning, requiring extra caution for outdoor activities during the holiday.
