San Diego Padres infielder Ha-Sung Kim, 26, was sidelined with an injury, but a pair of cannonballs helped the team win.
The San Diego Padres defeated the New York Yankees 5-1 on Sunday at Yankee Stadium in New York, New York, USA, in the 2023 Major League Baseball World Series. It was their second straight win. The Yankees lost their third straight game.
Kim Ha-seong was absent from the game. This is due to the aftermath of his injury. San Diego drove in a run in its final at-bat. With two outs in the top of the ninth, Soto doubled and Bogart singled to put runners on first and third.
Musgrove picked up his second win of the season, allowing one run on six hits with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
San Diego won 5-1 and remained in fourth place in the National League West with a 24-27 record.
