Doosan’s Kim Jae-ho touches home with double…first stolen base in 579 days

Kim Jae-ho (38, Dusan Bears) stole a base for the first time in 579 days.
His 76th career stolen base, which came after a year and seven months, led to a run.
Kim Jae-ho started at shortstop in the seventh spot in the lineup against the SSG Landers of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on April 26 and stole home in the bottom of the fourth inning.
After drawing a bases-loaded walk스포츠토토, Kim reached second base on a sacrifice bunt by the next batter, Jang Seung-hyun.
Yang Chan-yeol drew a walk to load the bases, and Jung Soo-bin hit a sacrifice fly to right field to bring in Heo Kyung-min from third. Kim Jae-ho raced from second to third.
With runners on first and third, Doosan manager Lee Seung-yeop signed the ‘double steal’ sign.
First baseman Yang Chan-yeol headed to second base, and when SSG catcher Kim Min-sik made a throw to second base, third baseman Kim Jae-ho sprinted home.
SSG second baseman Choi Ju-hwan caught the ball in front of the base and threw home, but Kim Jae-ho’s hand swept across home plate first.
Doosan had exploited the weakness of SSG pitcher Park Jong-hoon, who has a big pitching motion, and scored a run “without a hit.
Kim Jae-ho, who rarely tries to steal bases, also stood out for his willingness to throw.
It had been 579 days since Kim stole a base against the Jamsil LG Twins on October 24, 2021.
The day before (Oct. 25), Kim Jae-ho hit his fourth career walk-off hit in the 11th inning of extra innings against the Samsung Lions in Jamsil, and on Oct. 26, he scored with his feet.
